Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team of professionals. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality medical care to our animal patients while working closely with veterinarians, support staff, and pet owners. Key Responsibilities
- Animal Care & Treatment: Assist in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals under the guidance of a veterinarian. Administer medications, injections, and treatments as prescribed.
- Clinical Skills: Perform routine procedures such as taking vital signs, preparing animals for surgery, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients pre and post-operation.
- Patient Comfort & Compassion: Provide comfort and reassurance to animals in distress, ensuring they feel safe and cared for throughout their visit.
- Laboratory Work: Perform laboratory tests including bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal exams. Maintain accurate records of test results and communicate findings with the veterinary team.
- Client Communication: Educate pet owners on the care and treatment plans for their animals. Provide clear instructions for at-home care and follow-up procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the veterinary team, including veterinarians, fellow technicians, and support staff to provide seamless patient care. Foster a positive, collaborative environment within the clinic.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with maintaining patient records, updating client information, and managing inventory of medical supplies.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree or certification in Veterinary Technology (CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred).
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Strong technical and medical skills, including knowledge of animal care procedures, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Personal Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and understanding with animals and clients. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively with clients and coworkers.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude.
